Memorial Day Message 2020

Memorial Day Message 2020

To Our Friends and Fellow Americans,

The exact date, name, and location of the original Memorial Day observance has been debated for more than 150 years. Memorial Day’s many changes were resolved by the passage of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act which mandated in 1971, Memorial Day would occur on the last Monday in May.

Wednesday, May 27th, 2020, will mark the 42nd anniversary of the birth of LT Tyler Hall Brown.  It is at this time of year we are particularly mindful of our love and great respect for our son, brother, and uncle, Tyler, an Army Airborne Ranger.

Tyler was killed by enemy gunfire in Ar Ramadi, Iraq, on September 14th, 2004.  Every year that passes brings tribute and honor to Tyler for the life he lived and to those he continues to touch . . . Honoring Tyler by Honoring Others. http://lttylerbrown.com

September 27, 2004, fewer than two weeks after Tyler was killed and before his burial at Arlington, NPR interviewed family and friends remembering Tyler.

The 2019 Veterans’ Day Commemoration was held at Woodward Academy on November 11th.  USAF Colonel D. Wayne Waddell, Vietnam War 1967-1973 (POW) was the honoree.  TributeDetail
